In this visitor centre, Proasur designed an ambit recreating with great realism the striking vertical world of Picos de Europa, the ideal habitat of the Bearded Vulture. To do so, a diorama was designed representing a natural environment of limestone mountains. With realistic reproductions of fauna and flora including trouts, salamanders, otters, shrews, wildcats… organised according to the natural altitudinal floors, besides allowing aesthetic enjoyment to the good understanding of the species in their own habitat.
Proasur gave priority to the representation of the Bearded Vulture along with all species of raptors that share this habitat (Royal Eagle, Egyptian Vulture, Griffon Vulture, etc.) as well as the Chamois. The vertical wall was inspired by the view of the “murallón de Amuesa” and the summits of the “Mazico Central” from the “majada de Ondón”, limestone gorge landscapes that, due to their difficult access, are not usually well known by the visitors of Picos de Europa.
